Our GSR tool holders ensure a secure hold when tapping. The tool holder with ratchet No. 10 clamps hand taps from M 3 to M 10 as well as screw extractors, tap extensions and reamers with a square of 2.5 to 5.5 mm. The ratchet works clockwise and anti-clockwise and can be locked, so you can cut without re-gripping, even where a tap wrench cannot be turned all the way round. At 250 mm long and with a long sleeve made entirely of stainless steel, the long version also reaches threads in deep holes. We have further developed our tool holders with precisely matched components and deburred edges, making them comfortable and safe to handle. Every batch is tested with at least 5,000 ratchet cycles at constant torque.

Choose the tool holder in three steps:

Size by the square on the tool shank:
- No. 1 and No. 10: square 2.5 – 5.5 mm, M 3 – M 10
- No. 1.1/2 (without ratchet): square 2.5 – 8.0 mm, M 3 – M 12
- No. 2 and No. 20: square 4.5 – 8.0 mm, M 5 – M 12
- No. 3 (with ratchet): square 8.5 – 12.5 mm, M 13 – M 20
Version
- With ratchet: no re-gripping, even with little room
- With ratchet and centering eye: a spirit level in the head also shows whether the tap is perpendicular
- Without ratchet: slim and simple
Length: standard 85 to 116 mm. For deep holes, the long version No. 10 (250 mm) or No. 20 (300 mm).

The tool holder clamps all tools with a square of 2.5 to 5.5 mm:

The thread sizes are a guide for hand taps. Taps to other standards may have different square sizes. If in doubt, measure the square.

Cutting threads by hand, in through and blind holes
In tight spots, for example in engine compartments, on machine frames or in housings: the ratchet cuts even with a small swing angle
Threads in deep holes and recesses that a short holder cannot reach
Re-cutting damaged or painted threads
Removing broken screws with a screw extractor, with the ratchet set to reverse

Drill the tap hole according to the tap drill size table and countersink it slightly
Start the tap straight to the hole, with no side pressure for the first turns
Use cutting oil, especially on steel and stainless steel
In blind holes and tough material, turn back briefly from time to time to break the chips. Simply switch the ratchet to do this
Tighten the locking nut firmly so that the tool does not slip
