The GSR Coilrepair Set M2.5 provides everything needed to permanently repair damaged M2.5 internal threads. Stripped or worn threads are restored to their original nominal size in just a few steps, without replacing the component.

This principle is particularly well-suited to materials with low shear strength such as aluminium or magnesium alloys, where damaged threads are a common occurrence. All necessary system tools are included in the scope of delivery.

Die Thread Inserts bestehen aus austenitic stainless steeldraht mit diamond-shaped cross-section (Rhombus, 60°), der durch cold-forming zur federnden Wendel geformt wird. Die federnde Bauweise verteilt eingeleitete Kräfte gleichmäßig über alle Gewindegänge , das Ergebnis ist eine verschleißfeste Verbindung mit konstant niedrigem Gewindereibmoment, auch bei häufig wiederholter Verschraubung und hoher Betriebslast.

Damit das Installation Tool den thread insert sauber und ohne Schaden einbringt, the stop collar must be correctly adjusted before installation. The adjustment directly affects the insertion depth.

Use thread cutting fluid

When installing the thread insert, the use of a thread cutting fluid is recommended, particularly for steel, stainless steel and cast iron. GSR thread cutting fluid reduces friction, improves installation and protects the tool. Available in 100 ml and 250 ml.
