Our GSR Snap Drive 6K creates the right connection between square-shank tools and your cordless screwdriver. The adjustable adapter for cordless screwdrivers with a hex shank to DIN 3126 form E allows quick and secure holding of tools with a square of 4.5 to 8.0 mm: robust, precisely fitting and versatile. This suits hand taps to DIN 352 from M 5 to M 12 as well as screw extractors, tap extensions and reamers. The strong 7/16″ (11.1 mm) hex shank with groove transmits the higher torque that larger threads need. It requires a cordless screwdriver with a 7/16″ socket; a standard 1/4″ bit holder is not sufficient. Like all GSR Snap adapters, it has a knurled locking nut for easy tightening. The one-piece body is made of alloyed tool steel; the jaws and the drive have a black-oxide finish.

Choose the adapter by your drive:

Cordless screwdriver with 1/4″ hex socket (standard bit holder): Snap Drive 6K M 3 – M 10
Cordless screwdriver with 7/16″ hex socket: Snap Drive 6K M 5 – M 12
Reversible ratchet with 1/4″ square drive: Snap Connect 4K M 3 – M 10
Reversible ratchet with 3/8″ square drive or 19 mm open-end wrench: Snap Connect 6K M 3 – M 12

Then check the square on the tool shank: it must be within the clamping range of the adapter.

The adapter clamps all tools with a square of 4.5 to 8.0 mm:

The range M 5 to M 12 applies to hand taps to DIN 352. Machine taps, for example to DIN 371 or DIN 376, may have different square sizes. In that case, measure the square.

The Snap Drive 6K is designed for hand taps and short machine taps. For machine taps on a cordless screwdriver, use our QC adapter for internal threads; for external threads with round dies, use our SC adapter.

GSR Snap adapter: jaws, locking nut and drive

Use hand taps and short machine taps only. For machine taps, use our QC adapter
Set the clutch of the cordless screwdriver to a low setting so that the tap does not overload and break
Work at low speed: forward to cut, reverse to back out
Drill the tap hole according to the tap drill size table and countersink it slightly
Start the tap straight to the hole, with no side pressure for the first turns
Use cutting oil, especially on steel and stainless steel
In blind holes and tough material, turn back briefly from time to time to break the chips
Tighten the locking nut firmly so that the tool does not slip
